The Julia Comeau duo, a father-daughter ensemble, is based in Ottawa's west end, and consists of Julia Comeau on piano and Phil Comeau on bass. Drawing from a large repertoire of jazz standards, we can tailor our set list to suit any mood: Smooth and romantic ballads like "In a Sentimental Mood" and "Misty," up-tempo and entertaining pieces like "Take the 'A' Train" and "Don't Get Around Much Anymore,", favourite rhythmic Latin pieces like "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Black Orpheus," or energetic and danceable Swing numbers like "It Don't Mean a Thing (if it ain't got that Swing)" and "Sing Sing Sing." We can play requests, and can even create jazz versions of songs to suit the occassion.
